Place the cursor in the Author or Collaborators field (or the Editor or Add'l editors field, depending on the reference type).

Type the last name and then the first name, making sure to separate them with a comma.

Use semicolons to separate multiple names.

For difficult names, names with prefixes or suffixes, or multiple last names, it is best to use the author field editor. Click on the name of the field or press F9.

Each name appears in its own row. Do not enter any words describing the function of the person (for example, Editor). These descriptors are automatically added by the citation style you choose.

Enter prefixes (such as von) in the prefix column. Enter suffixes (such as Jr.) in the suffix column.

Citavi enters the names in the name field.
